Now I’m a huge fan of the Watchmen comics, and the movie adaption was pretty damn awesome if you ask me. Zack Snyder literally blew my mind, he did what he did with Frank Miller’s 300 — he turned something already pretty bad-ass into a bad mutha-f*$%er. And if you payed close enough attention you will have written down another thing on your list of nerd-must-haves: Rorschach’s shifting mask.
Now you can cross that bad boy of your list next to Holograms, ‘cus some inspired little genius by the name of youtube user guinness0507, who happens to own a paint company called Paint With Pearl, figured out how to put together his own moving Rorschach mask! And viola, success! Check out the awesome vid below! It’s not quite as good as the CG mask used by Jackie Earl Haley but still its better than the lame painted on ones fanboys wear at halloween.
Well in the rush of news the last month I fear that I overlooked a rather big something, the first trailer to Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. So put away your light-cycles and identity discs and get ready for some old fashioned ass-whopen! The first official trailer for Pirates 4 has been released, and in all truthfulness Its really a teaser — apart from the fact that it’s jammed with a shit load of extras. And it’s done it’s job ‘cus I can’t wait the six months until the release the thing!
For the more diehard fans of the films there is a little something for everyone, theres the crackly voice of Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush), drunken banter of Johnny Depp‘s Captain Jack Sparrow, as well as a few extras — zombies, mermaids, pirate-mexican chick (Penélope Cruz) and of course Jack’s new wild-card nemesis, Blackbeard (Ian McShane)! But what I enjoy the most out of this is the fact that as it seems the whole trailer, if not the whole movie, is centered around Jack — now thats something interesting.
Really Sparrows character has basically been at the heart of the films, and now with Keira Knightly and Orlando Bloom eliminated from the equation — we have a free roaming, no bars Jack! Hoorah! Check it out! And I’m very sorry for the late arrival, won’t happen again *cough* *cough*. Enjoy!

So far Disney’s sequel after 28 years has so far raked in $175 million dollars worldwide, and by American figures is $100 million domestically and $75 million overseas (which is us). Not as greater mass as it should have got, but I think that over the next few weeks Legacy should pick up a bit. I mean the original was a flop by all accounts, but look at it now — a cult classic.
If you haven’t seen Tron: Legacy yet then shame on you! You can’t call yourself a movie fan unless you’ve seen it, and if you haven’t then get your lazy ass into that theatre because by my account it was one of the best films of last year (and technically this year).
Not a lot has been seen of Zack Snyder‘s visual tour-de force that has been teased and built up through some very vague trailers and pics previously released, which is starting to play with your mind no doubt — maybe were the ones that should be in the looney bin! Well have no fair, as we have heres our latest quick fix of ass-kicking super-babes from Movie Webs feature the lovely ladies of Snyder’s Sucker Punch.
What I love about Snyder is that he’s a director that has no definitive style (apart from slomo action) yet his works stand out as very visually pleasing and the esthetic is more than pleasing. He stands out as one of my favorite directors (among the names of Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan etc.) because of his visual style and amazing ability to tell a clear story amongst all the mayhem of flying ninja’s, gun shots, sword fights and toga wearing badasses slaying like legends.
The man just knows how to handle a screen, and these images don’t surprise me at all — they’re only a small taste of what’s to come and yet Im even more excited by them. Thanks to Movie Webs we have several images below for you to check out.
And for those a little less savvy with the story line Punch is a original story from director Snyder, about a young girl who is institutionalized by her wicked stepfather. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy, she envisions a plan which will help her escape from the facility. And basically thats all we know as far, except from what the trailers have told us to expect — warping battles with robot samurai’s, dragons, Nazi’s, Airplane battles and of course girls kicking-ass in sexy outfits…what more do you need??
So check out the picks below, and enjoy!
Here we have four new International character posters from Michel Gondry‘s Green Hornet, which hits worldwide somewhere around January 20th (for release dates click here). Korean, the posters show all four main characters — in a slightly catalogue kind of way, especially Cameron Diaz‘s character. She just seems to be a bit of a deterrent these days ‘ol Diaz, heres hoping Green Hornet changes that…
As for everyone else, Christoph Waltz looks pretty fantastic (as usual) I mean all I see is Hans Landa from QT’s Inglorious Basterds — but hey it’s a damn good movie. For those a little less Green Hornet savy check out a plot summary we whipped u;
Britt Reid (Seth Rogan), is the the heir to a media empire, hell bent on partying – basically living up the playboy life style. But after his father dies in a horrible crash he decides to team up with one of his fathers loyal employee Kato (Jay Cho), who just happens to be a martial arts expert. Kato builds The Black Beauty, the ultimate weapon — an indestructible car for Britt. Britt realizes that he has to find some direction and do some good, so to save the day our heros must pose as villains to get closer to the bad guys. With the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they learn that the chief criminal in the city is named Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). Chudnofsky decides that the Green Hornet is a direct threat to his operation and seeks to take them down with his fellow gang lords.
So heres the posters below, enjoy!
42 years ago Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 Space Odyssey painted a picture of how the future would occur, and 9 years ahead of what the film portrayed as the pinnacle of technological discovery are we starting to perfect the art of 3D technology — and Apple’s Steve Job’s is looking into developing the idea further, with the goal of 3D without 3D glasses….. yes were referring to holograms!
Unfortunately for all the Star Wars Über fans out there Lightsabers and laser-guns are a little while off, but according to The Telegraph you can look forward to the development of holographic TV, cinema, and computer screen technology sometime in the near future! And yes there were some half-assed prototypes produced a couple years back, but to tell you the truth it’s It’s just not the same thing.
The company behind the Ipod and Iphone, and it’s latest touch-screen marvel the Ipad – Apple – have recently acquired a patent for 3D screens that don’t require the conventional glasses and even 3D projections a.k.a holographic imagery. The idea itself has been around for zonks, and basically how it works is you go to Wikipedia here and search it up — ‘cus If you don’t understand something you shouldn’t try to explain it!
Kidding! Basically, how I understand it works is tiny lasers on a special screen project light to your left and right eyes — giving the illusion to your brain of it being right in front of you. Also in development in conjunction with the screen is a tech to track your position to give the best possible image from all angles — sounds all very big Brother-ish don’t ya think? Don’t expect it straight away, but all I know is that its in development and more news should pop-up sooner or later. So stay tuned for more from Apple and our propulsion into the future, live long and prosper!
