It seems that the next few months will be The Fighter star, Christian Bale‘s month to shine as he heads into promotion for his newest release this month. Already having been grilled by E! online and MTV on the role of ex-druggie has-been boxer Dickie Eklund in The Fighter, it looks like other films will dominate the questions half — as production for his next, and more exciting film heads into action.
The Dark Knight Rises, which will the third and final Christopher Nolan directed Batman film has been on the hot-list for questionnaires, Bale however was intent on making it clear and announced that he would not be doing another Batman movie after this latest one. Saying “I believe, unless Chris [Nolan] says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman.” Not that a fourth was actually in the cards.
As everyone already knew, the plan for a fourth Batman – from director Chris Nolan anyway – has already been put to rest a long time as Nolan harshly put across his wishes for this to be the last and final film in the franchise. Tying off the critically acclaimed Batman lore created by Nolan that has been so long in the making — peronsally the idea of a fourth feels a little unnecessary as Dark Knight Rises seems like the logical ending point. Anything after that, would be overstaying its welcome.
Aside from that little more info has actually been reveled story wise so far, apart from the casting of Inception and Nolan favorite Tom Hardy opposite Bales character — as for plot, I’m sure as the interviews go on so will the rumors and info that spew through the movie news network. Although Bale admits that Bruce Wayne himself is yet to get a glimpse at a script as far…elaborating “Chris [Nolan] will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it. I probably know a little bit more than some other people out there, but I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know.”
