Is Another Toy Story Film On It’s Way? Probably Not. Maybe Not Full Feature Anyway…

The director of Toy Story 3 Lee Unkrich has revealed on twitter his Twitter account that the story of Andy’s toys wont just end at Toy Story 3. Apparently we will be seeing the lovable bad of toys next year in front of Pixar’s Cars 2 — but in short film form.

With Pixar’s last short Day & Night I have no doubt it’ll be something good, but what? In other Toy Story related news Tim Allen, the voice actor of the character Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story films has apparently signed up for a fourth Toy Story film. Although this doesn’t certainly mean there will be one, just means hes up for the role but who knows.

After Toy Story 3 – which pretty much rounded the films – I was pretty satisfied that the films were done. Being a fan from childhood till now I can safely say I’ve had enough. But any adation’s would be nice, this is what Unkrich told James Rocchi of the rumor:

“Well, I really tried my best to end the story of Andy and his toys and bring that story to a close in a really nice way at the end of this film. That being said, we know that people love the characters, love Woody and Buzz, and would hate to say good-bye to them completely. I don’t know that there would ever be a ‘[Toy Story] 4.’ We don’t have any plans for one — but we are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive. We have announced we’re going to do a short film in front of ‘Cars 2′ that uses the ‘Toy Story’ characters. We’re going to keep them alive; they’re not going away forever.”

Well thats it, Pixar….and Toy Story fans will be happy to hear we will be seeing a lot more of Woody and Buzz on the silver-screen — the first of which right before Pixar’s next feature Cars 2 in June 24th,  2011. So as for another Toy Story film, I would look to the future cus’ this franchise is done as far a full features go — or so they say. Remember this is Disney, and anythings possible.
