To be quite honest Im getting a little sick of talking about Michael Bay‘s Transformers 2, and how it fell short of our expectations. So I’m glad to hear some good news on the TF front, Michael Bay has revealed that Shockwave – a Decepticon from the animated series (comics and animated series) – has been named the villain of the third Transformers, due for release 2011. Bay, in a new interview with USA Today said Bay said about the last film’s villain the Fallen is “kind of a (expletive)” character.” Which I interpret as a sign that Bay has good things installed this time round.
Shockwave is a well known Decepticon character among fans of the animated series, playing several parts in the TF universe, although he hasn’t shown up in Bay’s movies. Because he spends most of his time on Cyberton, ruling it while the Autobots and Decepticons are on earth he was no form. But I’m sure Bay will do his best to integrate him into his films. As for plot USA Today divulges some info on the subject of plot, “It delves into the space race between the U.S.S.R. and the USA, suggesting there was a hidden Transformers role in it all that remains one of the planet’s most dangerous secrets.”
As for promises Bay has said he is getting rid of the stupid comedic side of TF, as well as its less than likable characters such as the twins – to which claim has been proven wrong with evidence showing us otherwise. But so far I’m happy, besides the seemingly broken promise.
