The next bond movie has been put on hold due to uncertainty from the still unfinnished auction of MGM Studios, which are behind the 007 franchise, says producers on Monday.
In a joint statement Bond producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli came out in a press release to say “Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on BOND 23 indefinitely.”
The untitled bond will be the 23rd in the series, and was due to be released in 2011 to 2012. The current actor occupying the role of brittish spy James Bond is actor Daniel Craig, who has done two bond movies prior to this one.
The last bond ‘Quantum of Solace’ racked in a average $586 million at the global box office in 2008, and its predicesor ‘Casino Royal’ in 2006 came out at around $594 million introducing Daniel Craig to the role.
